Fifteen years on the mound and the clipboard
Marcus pitched four years of Division II college ball before trading the roster spot for a coach's whistle. He founded the Grand Slam Juniors pitching program in 2011 and wrote the academy's age-by-age curriculum — the station-rotation system every class still runs on.
Parents know him for two things: remembering every player's name by the second session, and ending each class with the "one thing" huddle — one praise, one challenge, every kid, every time.
- Former Division II pitcher, USA Baseball coaching certified
- Leads kids classes, junior league Minors, and pitching lessons
- First-aid, concussion, and SafeSport certified
What a session with Marcus looks like
With a job, not a spotlight. New players get a role immediately — target holder, ball shagger, base coach — so they belong before they're asked to perform.
Mechanics before velocity, always — plus strict pitch counts by age and mandatory rest days. No trophy is worth a young arm.
Kids classes for children, junior league Minors division, and all pitching private lessons.
